Do you mean how do it make it look like thick paint, or do you mean something like "in what way does it look like thick paint?"?
I thought it was self-evident it looks like paint, thicker in some places than others, but definitely not a wash.
It's a technique I devised over the years. Partly stumbled on it and then elaborated on it.
